Given the great expanse of Namibia, our fly-in safaris afford you the chance to experience the best of this magnificent and varied country within the limited time you have to spend here. Flying enables you to see more in a shorter period of time, and from a very special view point. The varied and impressive landscapes of Namibia are emphasised from the air, particularly those areas you cannot reach in a vehicle such as the ship wrecks along the Skeleton Coast. You will be flown by a professional and experienced pilot, and at each stop the lodge guides will enhance your enjoyment of this unique country by making it a fascinating journey of discovery. Or alternatively, one of our professional guides can accompany you on your fly safari from start to finish. This way we can guarantee that a first class guiding standard is maintained throughout the safari.

Day 1 - Hotel Heinitzburg, Windhoek
Arrive in Windhoek, direct or via Johannesburg. After clearing customs and immigration formalities, you are met by a representative from SandyAcre Safaris who will transfer you to Hotel Heinitzburg, situated overlooking Windhoek city. The en-suite bedrooms are luxurious and stylishly decorated. Hotel Heinitzburg has one of the best restaurants in town, again overlooking the city with a lovely terrace area for sundowners. En-route from the airport we can offer a city tour if it appeals, or you can relax by the hotel swimming pool if preferred. Overnight at Hotel Heinitzburg.

Days 2 & 3 - Namib Desert – Little Kulala or Sossusvlei Wilderness Camp
After breakfast we will collect you from Hotel Heinitzburg to transfer you to the local airport where you will meet your pilot. Your charter flight today takes you south and west to the Namib Naukluft National Park where your stay will be on the private Kulala reserve at either Little Kulala or Sossusvlei Wilderness Camp, situated about 20 km south from Sesriem, the gateway to the Sossusvlei Dunes. Accommodation is in very comfortable en suite guest rooms, leading on to a verandah and private plunge pool facing a huge desert plain. There is a large main lapa with restaurant and bar, over looking a waterhole, which also makes the most of the stunning views. From here you can take an easy walk out into the local area, or just relax inside or by your private pool.

During your stay, a guide from the lodge will take you on an excursion, via Sesriem Canyon, to the dunes at Sossusvlei, some towering over 250 metres above the Tsauchab River Valley. The Namib Naukluft Park is one of the largest conservation areas in the world consisting of a diversity of landscape, wind-sculptured rock formations and valleys, scrub-like terrain and gravel plains. Certainly one of the most spectacular sights are the massive free-standing sand dunes at Sossusvlei. Gigantic mountains of sand constantly change colour and contrast with the pale clay pans below and occasionally gemsbok and ostrich can be seen wandering along the lonely horizon.

Days 4 & 5 - Swakopmund and the Skeleton Coast - Hansa Hotel
Your flight today will take you over the Namib Desert and the sea of sand dunes that stretches from Sossusvlei out to the coast. Upon reaching the Atlantic you will fly north along the coast line to the seaside town of Swakopmund passing over the Eduard Bohlen shipwreck, abandoned mining towns, Sandwich Harbour and Walvis Bay lagoon. You will be met at the airport and transferred into the centre of Swakopmund for a two night stay at the colonial style Hansa Hotel. The Hansa Hotel is conveniently located within easy walking distance of the waterfront, museums, aquarium, cafes, shops and restaurants to allow you to explore the town at your own leisure. Seafood dinner on your first night will be at the Tug Restaurant on the jetty overlooking the ocean. The following day you will be collected after an early breakfast for a lagoon dolphin cruise followed by crayfish lunch on the beach and a tour of Swakopmund. Afternoon to relax followed by dinner at the Hansa Hotel.

Days 6 & 7 - Etosha National Park Boundary – Ongava Lodge or Epacha Lodge
Depart after breakfast and fly inland to the south west side of Etosha National Park. You will land and be met at the airstrip to be transferred to the lodge. Accommodation for the next two nights will be at either Ongava Lodge or Epacha Lodge, both of which are located on their own private reserve just on the southern boundary of Etosha National Park. The lodges both overlook a waterhole where game frequents. The chalets are spacious and comfortable, with a balcony to enjoy the view of the game moving across the plains or approaching the waterhole. Your time at the lodge will be spent exploring the private reserve and Etosha National Park in specially modified open game drive vehicles, and relaxing by the pool.

Etosha National Park covers 23000 Sq km of which approx. 5000 Sq km is the 'Pan', an area classified as a saline depression. The park consists of grassland, woodland and savannah and game-viewing centres around the numerous springs and waterholes where several species can often be seen at one time. The Park boasts some 114 mammal and over 340 bird species and the Etosha is one of the most important breeding grounds for southern Africa's flamingo population. Wildlife that one can expect to see includes lion, rhino, elephant, giraffe, eland, kudu, gemsbok, the Damara dik-dik, zebra, cheetah, leopard, hyena, honey badger and warthog as well as the endemic black faced impala.

Day 8 - Depart
Your pilot will fly you down from the lodge direct to the international airport in time for your international flight home.
