Safaris was established in 1995 to provide a reliable, high-quality,
personal service for visitors who wish to see the unspoiled splendours
of Namibia while travelling in the comfort and style they expect
from an African safari. To achieve this, we have confined ourselves
to dealing with small groups of visitors, and we pay great attention
to detail when arranging each holiday to make sure that you get
good value for money.
We know what
can be achieved, even in difficult conditions, and we understand
the expectations that experienced travellers have of a safari in
Africa. We take great pleasure in providing a quality service, and
look forward to demonstrating this to you.
We are convinced
that the knowledge, experience and attitude of the guide are critical
to a successful safari, so we ensure that our guides are both personable
and very professional. We also attach great importance to the comfort
and safety of our guests during their time with us. For this reason,
we use the vehicles and equipment we believe to be best suited to
their needs, depending on what exactly they have chosen to do while
in Namibia.
We prefer to
keep the numbers on our safaris small in order to ensure that our
service always remains personal. Normally we cater for groups of
between two and eight guests, but we can still comfortably accommodate
larger numbers on special request, especially if the safari participants
are already known to one another.
We only stay
at selected lodges, guest farms and private ranches which are already
known to us, and we use our own high-quality mobile camps in areas
where none of these are available. If visitors prefer to be independent
of fixed accommodation facilities, even in areas where good lodges
exist, we are very happy to spend the entire safari under canvas
for added flexibility and privacy if this appeals.
If the long
distances involved in getting to some of the most interesting areas
are off-putting, or visitors would just like the opportunity to
see some of the unique Namibian scenery from the air, we can arrange
for guests to be flown by charter aircraft for part of their itinerary.
This normally means flying into a convenient airstrip to be met
by our guides who will be waiting there with your safari vehicles.
Guests can then set off fresh and fully able to appreciate the natural
splendour of the sights awaiting them.
We operate
mainly in the central and western regions of the country - travelling
to the Kalahari and Namib deserts, along parts of the desolate Skeleton
Coast, across the untouched emptiness of Damaraland, and into the
splendid scenery of Kaokoland in the northwest before returning
through Etosha National Park. We may not be the cheapest Safari
Company around, but we are convinced that we provide very good value
for money. We take great pains to ensure that our service is the
best available and we are proud of our ability to cater for a sophisticated
clientele that demands extremely high standards. Our aim is that
our guests make the best possible use of their time with us, and
that they return home enriched and invigorated by their experiences
in Namibia.
